Twenty-two years ago today, I was ordained into the office of public ministry at Christ Memorial Lutheran in Houston.

Jen and I moved as much as we could from St. Louis to Orlando (where my first Call was at the awesome Trinity Downtown), then we rushed to Houston for ordination and then back to Orlando.

Certainly ministry is not for the faint of heart, but it is such a blessing to serve the Lord and others alongside some tremendous and inspiring people of God!

We remember that day so well, amongst so many other very special days! We pray you are able to continue to serve your Lord and Savior, as well as all those whose lives you touch, for many years to come. We are so thankful God sent you to us as our son! Love you, Mom and Dad

Always a little surprising when your best buddy, the guy you did everything with from chasing girls to wrecking cars to assorted other exemplary and reckless behaviors, decides to join the clergy. But, knowing him so well, it also was not a surprise at all. Congratulations on a milestone of impact and outsized positive influence on so many lives, Pastor Scott E. Heitshusen.
